Article Marketing Part 2

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

In the first review of article marketing you learned how
article directories can help you drive traffic to your website
from the search engines.

You also learned that Article marketing can be a very powerful
tool when it is used properly.

In this next lesson, you will learn how to “create a plan”
so you can benefit the most out of article marketing to help you
leveraging article directories and build trust between yourself and your readers.

We have created a simple 5 step guide to get you started:

STEP ONE – Select a top keyword that you want to target.

For example, let’s say you are in the internet marketing
business. Perhaps you promote products online and want to attract
traffic to your website for anything and everything related to
“internet marketing” – so this is your keyword target. This
is where you’re most likely to get the most sales or opt ins
from your article marketing campaign.

STEP TWO – Select keywords from the bottom of your keyword list.

The next step is to know exactly what your target is so you can
begin researching your keyword’s LONG TAIL. The long tail is the
keywords that show up on the bottom of your keyword list. They
receive less searches but they are easy to get ranked on the first page.
This list is simple to build using Google’s keyword tool. Click here to visit Google keyword tool

You simply enter your keyword phrase and hit “get keyword ideas” and then sort them according to search volume (you do this by clicking on the search volume) and scroll down the list and you can decide what search volume you want to target.
It is best to choose 10,000 or less. If you  choose these keywords it is much
easier to get to the first page in the search engines.

Here are some keywords that have less than 10000 searches a month for the team internet marketing

These are great keyword targets. We know people are
searching for them, so let’s use this info to write an articles
to dominate these keywords in the search engines.

STEP THREE – Write an article or 10 or more!

Check out Ezinearticle’s some people have thousands of
articles on there all directing traffic to their sites
The next step you can either do yourself or pay an article
writing service for you. The advantage of the
writing service, of course, they have lots of experience
creating content for SEO and keyword domination.

Just do a search on google and you will find many
services that do this.

STEP FOUR – Submit your articles to the directories.

This next step might require reviewing the list provided in the
first lesson. The most popular directory of all is
EzineArticles.com but you are free to use any directory you like
the more the better. Just be sure the service is going to
help you protect your content with backlinks in case other webmasters
decide to publish your content on their site.

STEP FIVE – Wait for the search engines to hit and
send your article to the first page!

The main goal here is to get your keyword targeted article
to the top of the search engines for that particular search phrase.
The more competitive your keyword target, the less likely you will
be to hit the top of page one on Google, Yahoo, or MSN.
But if you choose a less targeted keyword phrase, you will have
great success. Simple start with the lower searches and
work your way up. Simple Right!

We have found the success rate with this strategy to be a bit
surprising at times. You can never really be sure which
articles are going to be a big success and which articles will
provide very little traffic. This is why it’s important
to be consistent with article marketing like a machine.
It’s a numbers games and the more often you write and submit
new content, the more traffic you are will get.
